Scooping up Life in Pieces -- A Listening Challenge
September 1, 2007

Part of being a writer is to learn to observe and listen. This is an exercise in listening. Write about another person's voice. Listen in real life to another person speak and describe the sound in your best language. You may even write a poem or short fiction piece using the description. The best writing is that which is sparked with reality.

The truth of this concept hit home with me one time when a blind girl told me my voice was a low rumble with a hiss at the end. Wow!

Also, over at the forum, I put up two polls. I'd appreciate everybody answering the polls. They are questions about prompts. I'd like your input.
