Planets and the Creationist View

This quarter, I've been taking a geology class. It's really quite fascinating, and I'm enjoying it. I especially love how much of the information scientists claim can support a Big Bang theory seem to point closer to God and farther from an "accident". So, here is one of several mini essays I've written about this.

---------------------------------------------------

Many people will disagree with me, I'm sure, but I believe the planets are a great proof of a Higher Creator. Let's begin with Earth. Our axis is tilted at just the right angle to support life. If our axis went perpendicular to the elliptical plane like most of the other planets, there would be no life here. There would be two seasons: a very hot summer, and an icy cold winter. I personally don’t believe that a “big bang” could have miraculously done this without some kind of outside guide—a Creator.

Secondly is Uranus. All of the other planets spin in a top-like way. This planet, however, mimics the motion of a ball rolled on the ground. Scientists say space debris hit this planet to tilt it. I respectfully disagree. I personally believe that our Creator has a sense of humor. He knew that scientists would try to analyze the planets for proof of their theory, and just to screw with them, He pushed Uranus over on its side.

Lastly, I would like to bring Pluto back into the realm of planets. Maybe it’s because I grew up in one of the last few generations to be taught that Pluto was a planet, but I personally believe that it still is. Once again, the Creator had a sense of humor when pulling Pluto out of line and making its orbit around the Sun to invade Neptune’s orbit.

This is what I believe to be true. I have no reason to believe otherwise. I have no problem seeing other arguments, and I don’t even have a problem with people believing other arguments. Not even the creationist view has all the answers because God didn’t say how exactly He created everything. Rather, He simply said that He did.

Creationism Versus The Big Bang--Which Theory is True?
While I am a Christian, the point of this topic is not to force anyone to convert to my beliefs. Rather, this is an informational topic discussing the differences between the creationist view and the Big Bang. Whichever view you believe, I wish good luck to you. I personally believe in creationism like most Christians, but you are welcome to your beliefs as well. Please note, this is not intended to bash anyone. While this may be a blog called "UNCENSORED" the point is not to hurt feelings to wound people. Rather, the point is to express anything that is usually CENSORED by the government. Let free speech reign! Please, do not flame me. If I seem overly critical of the Big Bang, it's because I feel the theory relies entirely on circular logic.

Apologies in advance to anyone offended,

-----------------------------------------------------

Let's begin our discussion of this month with finding out the basics of both theories. To begin, we'll start with creationism since that's my own personal belief. If any of my readers can find any more information regarding the Big Bang, that would be nice. I have a lot of my own personal mini essays that I wrote for my geology class, but if any of you can find any articles in science magazines, etc, that would be really cool.

-----------------------------------------------------

Creationist Theory

According to the Bible, the Earth begins its life "without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep." (Genesis 1:2) The creation of Earth as we know it begins with light and the separation of light and darkness, one being day and the other night. This is day one of God's creation of Earth. The second day begins with God creating the sky, which my ESV Bible refers to as "heavens". This is the only thing done on the second day.

The third day has a little more to it than the first two days. First, God begins by gathering all of the water in one place to allow dry land to appear. This land is the land we all live on but in its baby years. Though it doesn't say it here, my personal belief is that if all the waters were gathered in one place, all the land must have been gathered in one place too. This is Biblical proof of Pangaea, which we will get into later this month.

Now, God doesn't stop with just creating Earth on the third day. He also created all the vegetation around us. He created the fruit trees and the flowers, the trees and the grass. I'm not sure if He created weeds here or if that was a curse from the Fall. So, this ends the third day, and on the fourth God creates something more for the sky: He creates the stars, the Sun, and the Moon. With all the billions of stars we can see in our sky, it's no wonder that this was all God created in this one day. That must've been a lot of work.

Now, we move on to the fifth day. Here, Earth now has sea creatures and birds. Some creationists believe that some of these birds were the dinosaurs of the science theory. They explain the smaller creatures that have "evolved" from dinosaur fossils as being the adaptation of these large beasts learning to live after the Great Flood. Only God knows for sure, but it certainly does explain the fossils. After all, if you had to choose between a huge saber tooth tiger and its young cub, which would you rather have on the ark?

On the sixth day, God creates all of the Earth creatures: crawling bugs, mammals, and everything else in between. Then He created something unique to everything else He had created: Man. "Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.'" (Genesis 1:26)

So, in a nutshell: In six days, God created everything that scientists say took billions of years. Yes, it seems unbelievable that all of this could be created in so little time, but wouldn't you rather believe you were created special than an itty bitty piece of a giant explosion? Wouldn't you rather believe you were created on purpose rather than a simple chance evolutionary object?

-----------------------------------------------------

The Big Bang Theory

According to scientists, the entire universe seems to have been made from a huge accident. You may think I'm being cruel, but I rather feel that a chance explosion in space from a supermassive ball of elements to all that is now around us seems more of an accident than a good explanation. I would rather believe in a Creator that we cannot see than a chance explosion that may not have happened.

After all, if this is all chance, how are we special in the big picture? What is our goal in life? But I'm getting ahead of myself. This is simply to explain the basics of The Big Bang, not to show my evidence for or against.

According to scientists, this supermassive ball sitting in space exploded about 20 billion years ago. Our universe, including Earth, is only about 4-20 million years old. I can't recall exact numbers for this theory so forgive me if I'm vague.  I especially can't recall all the huge numbers of this theory. There are so many of them.

The proof given for this theory includes the fact that there is cosmic radiation. No one knows why the cosmic radiation is there. The only information I could find regarding that cosmic radiation states that the proof of this cosmic radiation is the Big Bang theory. Circular logic. The second piece of observational evidence that the Wikipedia article gives is Hubble's Law.

Hubble's Law states that everything is moving away from everything else at a rate proportional to its distance from us. Or something like that. All of these laws are very scientifical, and I'm not much of a science person. Anyway, basically what Hubble's Law tells us is that the stars, the Sun, even Earth, is pulling away from everything around it.

This, of course, proves that a large explosion must have caused the gravitational pull of everything around everything to be smaller than the velocity of the explosion. So, our universe is expanding. However, there is another law I would like to discuss: Newton's Law of Inertia. "Every body persists in its state of being at rest or of moving uniformly straight forward, except insofar as it is compelled to change its state by force impressed." Basically, something will stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force.

My own personal thought is that this really confuses the mind. Hubble's Law can be viewed, and Newton's Law of Inertia can be experimented to be proven. How can both of these act together? For one thing, Hubble's Law reveals that everything is moving. But Newton's Law of Inertia tells us that gravitational force should be enough to keep everything together. After all, all of the planets around our Sun aren't moving away from it. Gravitational force keeps them in their place: the outside force stopping the planets' outward motion.

Why, then, aren't the gravitational pulls of galaxies keeping everything in place? Something to ponder and research...
