This quarter, I've been taking a geology class. It's really quite fascinating, and I'm enjoying it. I especially love how much of the information scientists claim can support a Big Bang theory seem to point closer to God and farther from an "accident". So, here is one of several mini essays I've written about this.
---------------------------------------------------
Many people will disagree with me, I'm sure, but I believe the planets are a great proof of a Higher Creator. Let's begin with Earth. Our axis is tilted at just the right angle to support life. If our axis went perpendicular to the elliptical plane like most of the other planets, there would be no life here. There would be two seasons: a very hot summer, and an icy cold winter. I personally don’t believe that a “big bang” could have miraculously done this without some kind of outside guide—a Creator.
Secondly is Uranus. All of the other planets spin in a top-like way. This planet, however, mimics the motion of a ball rolled on the ground. Scientists say space debris hit this planet to tilt it. I respectfully disagree. I personally believe that our Creator has a sense of humor. He knew that scientists would try to analyze the planets for proof of their theory, and just to screw with them, He pushed Uranus over on its side.
Lastly, I would like to bring Pluto back into the realm of planets. Maybe it’s because I grew up in one of the last few generations to be taught that Pluto was a planet, but I personally believe that it still is. Once again, the Creator had a sense of humor when pulling Pluto out of line and making its orbit around the Sun to invade Neptune’s orbit.
This is what I believe to be true. I have no reason to believe otherwise. I have no problem seeing other arguments, and I don’t even have a problem with people believing other arguments. Not even the creationist view has all the answers because God didn’t say how exactly He created everything. Rather, He simply said that He did.
