Changes in the Business World that attack us all

Yesterday I stopped by the local quick-stop to fill up with gas before heading to Springfield to see our new grandchild.  I have been doing business at this place for quite some time as I had to quit doing business at the other place in town because of one employee there.  I had written countless number of checks for the amount of the gas/fuel I had purchased.  I wrote a check yesterday and then the girl ran it through some sort of machine and came up with a slip of paper for me to sign.  I said "What?" She told me that I would need to sign the paper and then she would return the check.  I read the slip of paper and it said that if my check bounced (it was in the sum of $20.50) that I was giving them permission to take not only the $20.50 but also another $37.00 out of my bank.  Needless to say I simply refused to sign the paper.  Anyone that goes along with this system is part of the problem.  I knew my check would not bounce but we all know that glitches do occur from time to time and by the time I would have discovered a glitch it would be six weeks later and my word against someones.  I am not going to set myself up to be robbed.  Did you realize that if you do sign and give them the authority to garnish your account that they can do that quite easily and once they have your money you will have a hard time getting it back..  I am not going to play that game.  I refused to sign - period.  She called someone and asked them if I had to sign and of course they told her I did.  I am not blaming the hired help at the counter and I stayed very calm and smiling during the ordeal.  She then had to learn how to unpost the check and the charge to my account.  I sure hope she got it right.  It took about twenty minutes of me standing there waiting.  I was glad it was a Sunday and that a long line did not gather.  She finally got finished and I offered her a credit card with which to pay my bill and then when the transaction was complete I informed her that I would not be back.  Wal-Mart did that to me one time last year when they first started the same insanity and I simply gave them their product back but since the gas was in my tank I could not very well just give it back and walk away.
Refuse to be done that way.  The permission you give them is a form of coercion that one must simply refuse.  Why would anyone grant permission to some two-bit company to access their checking account?  Do not be a sheeple  - we have to take control by voting with our pocketbooks.  We can't make a business take our check the proper way but we damn sure can refuse to do business with them any longer.

New Way to do CarJackings

BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE-- NEW WAY TO DO CARJACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)'

    Heads up everyone!
     You walk
across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into Reverse.
When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically  mow you down as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.  So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your  money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this.

I received this in an e-mail and thought it important enough to share.

Vote No on Prop "A"

Vote no on all questions that will be on the ballot presented on November 4th.  One amendment pertains to making "English" the official language of state business, maybe that one would be allright to vote yes on but the rest are all clearly due a "NO" vote for various reasons.  None are as clear as they seem at first glance and none deserve being passed.

Vote for McCain

The only sensible vote is one for John McCain for President for the United States.   There is not one worthwhile reason to vote for what the Democrats are offering.  Sometimes I really wonder just what the Democrats are smoking.  I mean in the last three elections they have proposed Al Gore ( a sure loser), John Kerry (an even bigger loser) and now this Barak Obama who is by far the worst of the three.  I do not understand why they passed on Ms Clinton, as she could have easily beaten McCain.  It is like they enjoy offering losers so they can continue to whine when it bites them.
They have the media so hyped up that they are going to win.  Each and every American with an ounce of brains must make sure he/she makes it to the polls and votes for John McCain on November 4th.

There can be no excuse.
 Every vote counts.
 America is at stake.

Kelley's Dairy on John S. McCain

I feel John S. McCain is the best choice to be President of the United States and that is who I am supporting and who I am going to vote for.
I know the President really has no control over taxes, health care, energy policy or a host of other issues that are brought up for various reasons during a campaign but are really Congressional issues for Congress to do something about.
The only two things that the President really has any control over is FOREIGN POLICY and the nomination of Supreme Court Justices.  I feel that John S. McCain has a better handle on Foreign Policy than his main opponent and I know he will work at finding a nominee for the Supreme Court , if the need arises, that will better reflect the true interpretation of the United States Constitution.
