Buying Stock

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1000.00. With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left. f you had purchased $1000.00 of Delta Air Lines stock, you would have $49.00 left.

But... If you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, Then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have

had $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

It's called the 401-Keg Plan

Wall Street Bail Out Plan

Once upon a time a man appeared in a village and told the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.

The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.  The man bought thousands at $10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He next announced that he would now buy  monkeys at $20 each. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.

Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to  their farms. The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys  became so scarce it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it.

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 each! However,  since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would buy  on his behalf.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the  villagers: "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has already collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns  from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each."

The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys for 700 billion dollars.

They never saw the man or his assistant again, only lots and lots of monkeys!

Now you have a better understanding of how the
WALL STREET BAILOUT PLAN

WILL WORK !!!!

It doesn't get much clearer than this................

Brown Swiss Cows at Kelleys Dairy

It was such a pretty day and the cows seemed to be enjoying the second cutting clover hay. I hope I get to put up more like it this coming summer.

Three Angels at Kelley's Dairy

Glinda and I were privileged to have three of our six angels with us today.  It seems that they are always angels when their parents are not around.  "M" is in brown, "Flossie" is in the white jacket and of course the young man has to be "C".  We really like having them around.

"M" comes to visit

We are always thrilled when "M" comes to visit.  She gets to stay with us for two days before her parents come to get her.  The first photo is "M" feeding a calf that was born on Christmas Day (We had four) and the second photo is "M" teat dipping a cow for the first time.
We drove to Rogersville today and "Flossie" rode with us to visit Francis and Jenni and to pick "M" up for her visit.  We took a route we had never taken before and it was a real nice drive.  I had to first stop in at the USDA office in Hartville and I found a new memorial, I snapped a photo of it and posted it to the Dist 18 VFW Weblog.  If you would like to see it go to www.vfwwebcom.org/mo/dist18
It was  a great day for a drive in the country.  60 degrees in January is hard to beat.
