Apple Picking at Kelley's Dairy

A long, long time ago when my daughter was merely two she wanted an apple one evening and we had none in the house.   I promised her that I would plant an apple tree for her the next day.  The next day we went to town and purchased an apple tree.   It was a Jonathon type apple tree that we came home and planted.  Following a few years and no apples I found out that there had to be another apple tree within a mile for the tree to be able to pollinate and bear fruit.  We soon came home with a Red Delicious variety apple tree to plant.  The next year the Jonathon started bearing fruit and has each year since.  The tree is now fully mature and bearing heavily.  Glinda has already used all the apples she wants so we have been giving them away to whomever wants to come and pick.  There are still lots of apples on the tree.  Below are some photos of this morning's apple picking session.  I helped Robert K pick several buckets and sacks for he and his wife to process this weekend.
We are ready to begin. My turn on the ladder.

Robert K and I have been having a lot of fun working together this summer putting up hay and working on the machinery.  Now we seem to be starting to to a few other things.  We have a trip to take to Marshfield machinery to take a look at the used tractors offered for sale there among other things planned.
The Shu was gracious enough to walk me through a new process this morning through a chat to make these images here one step closer for the reader through the use of a "hot link".  Now to see the photos in a larger scale just left click on the desired photo and it will jump up in the full size that was uploaded.  To return then just hit the back button. I have sure learned a lot from The Shu, Ross and T.S. over the last couple of years. I thank them for their patience with on old slow minded country boy.
