Poor Attempts at Poetry
There was an old cow from Kelley's
who always had grass in her bellies
She said "I'd eat grain
if only it'd rain
but now I will go watch the telly."

Looked in my cooler and what did I see?
Six little beers looking at me.
Grabbed one out - gave a shout
"This is what it's all about".
Looked in my cooler and what did I see?
Five little beers looking at me.
Reached right in -once again
Face broke into a grin.
Looked in my cooler and what did I see?
Four little beers looking at me.
Got another and looked around
Took a seat on the ground.
Looked in my cooler and what did I see?
Three little beers looking at me.
Grabbed again and received a scowl
My wife watches like an owl.
Looked in my cooler and what did I see?
Two little beers looking at me.
I reached in and split the pair
Left one there in despair.
Looked in my cooler and what did I see?
One little beer looking at me.
Snatched it up - drank it down
now I'm heading into town.
Looked in my cooler and what did I see?
No little beers looking at me.
Wife came over and grabbed the keys
I cried "Honey, please - please- please!

Making Hay
Round and round the field all day
On a tractor mowing hay.
The sun is hot the sun is bright
But cool will come with the night.
Round and round the field we go
Raking hay into a row
Raked into a row and then
Round and round we go again.
Round and round real slow this trip
making bales from the strip.
Come winter I will feed this hay
Thats why I'm out here this hot day.

The Ball it Rests
Waiting
Waiting
The little boy will come no more
He has gone off to war
The Ball still Rests
Inside the Glove
Waiting
