The continuing Saga of the Concrete
I received another lesson in concrete today. I am sure getting a lot of new experiences for someone already over the hill at 55. Anyway I went to help my brother-in-law Clarence cut grooves in the concrete today. Grooves are cut in concrete to control where the cracking will be (that's the theory). Although neither Clarence nor I had ever before attempted to cut grooves in concrete we attacked the concrete with a vengeance. Clarence rented a concrete grooving saw and was back before I arrived there this morning. We used a chalkline to mark straight lines where we intended to cut. They were little more than a rough guide because if we used water to keep the dust down it washed away the chalk and if we didn't use water the wind from the saw blew most of the chalk away, but we got the job done. Mary took a few photos and even a couple of videos. My upload speed is slow today so I will not be able to post the videos until I catch a fast upload speed (the speed varies from day to day and sometimes even by the hour), But I will post some of the still photos she took below.
