E-Mail received From Afghanistan
I received the following e-mail from a man I never met this morning. I will not put his or his wife's name here but I need to share what he shared with me.
I checked with him first for permission.
"I am a Life Member of the VFW, a member of the Missouri National Guard and am currently deployed to Afghanistan. I want to tell you about an incident that happened yesterday in Columbia Missouri. My 16 year old daughter went to the post office to mail a package to me. The clerk asked her where it was going, she told him and he said " he's probably dead anyway". Now I don't know about you, but that really pisses me off. My daughter goes to bed every night worrying about me and to have a federal employee say something like that is not only wrong, but very destructive. I fully understand that not all the people we serve agree with the war or the politics, but that little girl should never be subjected to that kind of treatment.
I'm not sure why I'm telling you this. Maybe I just need to tell somebody and the VFW is a big part of my families life. My wife is xxxxxxxx and my daughter is in the women's Auxiliary. Something is very wrong with the United States Postal Service and I hope the VFW at the State level can let them know it."
I don't know about you but this really freaks me that anyone would have the gall to say something like this. I have sent an e-mail to the mans' wife asking her to keep me informed. Monday I will start the ball rolling (I hope) with the Dept of Mo VFW to see that someone's head rolls. The man that would speak like that to someone is just a waste of oxygen.

Man Goes Postal in Afghanistan
That is horrible behavior. I think if they have post offices in Afghanistan they should send him there for a couple of years!
