For a Musecrafters Forum Prompt . The painting: Nude Descending a Staircase by Marcel Duchamp.
Laid Bare
Life goes on never ending
every day the same
walking downs the steps of life
knowing only my name.
Born free of all impediments
I found it wasn't true.
Demands, needs, responsibilities
present themselves anew.
I take the steps spiraling down
the staircase to tomorrow
never knowing I lost my soul
while wallowing in my sorrow.
I've been made nude, down to my skin
my decadence laid bare.
I came here filled with happiness
and now I'm in despair.
I walk the steps of misery
laid bare my mechanical parts
a nude descending the staircase
of empty souls, emptier hearts.

| If that's what the staircase reveals then I would suggest its reality be brought into question. Certainly no evidence of such revelations have ever been present in your work... bah, humbug I say... but very effective use of the more negative emotions. Nice job... |

Nice Poem
But I fail to see the nude and I am looking hard. This must be the new art I do not understand. But I did enjoy the poem.

Gee whiz, I guess I must have some artistic impulses in me...I can see it...she's in motion, you see her like in several successive images, she's mechanical looking, but to tell you the truth, quite graceful. I guess you think I'm crazy... |
