Lumbering Giant

Lumbering king giant
earth quaking in your wake.
Animals scattering
before each step you take.

Wielding your long white tusks,
push all out of your way.
Is it bleak at the top?
Are you alone all day?

Do you push away friends
with your rarified air?
I suspect a soft heart
beats deep in you somewhere.

I'm thinking you're lonely
but royalty denies
mingling with the masses
from your place in the sky.
