Freedom

Freedom

Graceful lady, eloquent, still
Soft steps until
Thunder roars near
Instilling fear.

White queen rising to Freedom's sound
Bell chimes resound
Peals to proclaim
Freedom's her name.

Balls of fire, stars poised in flight
Under her might
To win the day
For Freedom's way.

Well,

The Commonwealth still hasn't snatched backed the rights to my newly self-designated title for its own use.  So, in the interests of performing my duties as Jo Janoski Poet Laureate of PA, this is a  poem to engender in you a love of poetry. It is called a Minute--

The Minute Poem is a rhyming verse form consisting of 12 lines of 60 syllables written in strict iambic meter.  The poem is formatted into 3 stanzas of  8,4,4,4;  8,4,4,4;  8,4,4,4 syllables.  The rhyme scheme is as follows:
aabb
ccdd
eeff
