PoemA SOLDIERS BOOTS They just sit their by the door, reminding her of many days that came before. Thats his favorite pair he allways wore, he would were them dancing and riding or just going to the store. He even wore them to their wedding just sixteen months before. They just sit their by the door. The leather's cracked and the soles are wore, The spurs have rusted, They will spin no more. She sits and stares and wonders what it was all for, Why those pair of boots have to sit their by the door. As spider webs criss cross and make their way to the floor and some of the mud has crumbled its scatterd by the door. She crys every time she sweeps the floor, for this young ladys heart is tore.
