Both of my little ones in school have a new student in their class that is in foster care and is placed in the Wright Co Children's Home. Foster children receive free lunches but not free milk in the afternoon. The Children's Home does not provide money for milk. Today I sent extra milk money with both my kids to pay for these little girls milk and I will continue to do so. It is only .25 but it means so much to these kids not to be left out.
People ask what they can do to help foster kids and this is just one of the many ways. It cost $1.25 a week! The first day I sent money with my little girl after she came she almost cried because she had never got to have milk in the afternoon before. She is so excited to bring the money to help her new classmate. It's the little things that matter.
I encourage any of you who wanted to help but just didn't know what to do to find a child and sponsor their afternoon milk. It's a inexpensive way to put a smile on a child's face and nothing is better than that!
