Saturday afternoon while my mom was riding go carts mom hurt her back. She then had an allergic reaction to some medication. I took her to the doctor on Monday. The doctor gave her some muscle relaxers and sent her on her way. By last night she was still in so much pain and was having trouble breathing that my brother Tom and my dad took her to the emergency room.

Today we have learned that she has a broken lumbar vertebrae. She also for some unknown reason has blood and fluid in her lung and rib area along with some scar tissue. They are unable to do anything with her back until they fix the problem in her lungs.

Tomorrow morning they will do surgery to remove the scar tissue along along with the fluid. She will be on a dual split ventilator that will allow them to collapse one of her lungs while they preform the surgery. She will come out of surgery with a drain tube in her side. She will continue to be in the hospital with this for around 4 days.

They are hoping that her back could heal on it's own. If not we are looking at surgery or some type of injection that will harden around the bone area.

Please keep her in your prayers. She is in Cox South room 330 as of now. I'm not sure if they will move her once she is out of surgery.
