ConvergeSouth sessions are over for the day and the WACKEMALL-1 is safely back on the ground and in the hanger. Saturday night dinners will begin shortly and then it's on to the ConvergeSouth Film Festival.

Participants to this weekend's ConvergeSouth are encouraged to bring their video and still cameras to take part in the filming of music videos of the various bands who are playing this weekend.

Sean Coon is heading up the effort in hopes of turning the music portion of ConvergeSouth into a full-fledged music festival despite a City Government that doesn't have a clue.

I'll be "flying" in to visit the Piedmont League of Women's Voters for lunch at Holy Trinity Church on Greene St. The program will be on the Heart of the Triad Project. Afterwards you'll be able to find me at various spots downtown talking with voters and stirring up support. Just look for the airplane "flying" down the street and wave me down if you want to talk local politics.

Cara Michele has video of Saturday night's Food not Bombs fund raiser at the Hive on Grove Street and proclaims me to be Greensboro's next mayor.

It was a great time to be had by all and a nice chunk of cash was raised to go towards feeding Greensboro's poor and homeless population.

I don't live in Greensboro's District 3 but if I did I would be casting my vote for Joe Wilson over what's his name. What's his name only wants to Bulldoze and Burn, Joe wants to make Greensboro a better place in which to live.
Joe Wilson is for law and order but don't take my word for it, ask Berkley Blanks, the highest ranking officer in the Greensboro Police Reserves. Berkley has spent his life serving Greensboro as a police officer and if Berkley says Joe Wilson understands Greensboro's crime and gang issues then I believe he does. I know Berkley and I know Joe. Also, Joe Wilson was telling the world about Greensboro's gang issues long before the Greensboro City Council was willing to admit we have a problem.

Joe understands the issues.

Joe Wilson was endorsed by the Rhino Times, Doctor Joe Guarino, Ed Cone and now has the endorsement of Billy Jones. Go get 'em Joe!

By the way, if you happen to get a telephone call from a campaign worker asking you to vote for Joe Wilson there's a good chance it could be me.

To those of you who aren't taking my bid to become Mayor of Greensboro seriously I thought I'd let you know I've been invited to join the Piedmont League of Women Voters Mayoral discussion on the Heart Of The Triad Project Tuesday, 12 Noon at Holy Trinity Church on Greene St. I'll be flying in.

The ConvergeSouth Outsiders are for the most part people who have attended and are attending ConvergeSouth but feel that ConvergeSouth has failed and continues to fail our community with its emphasis on a few downtown merchants, development driven nonprofits and big media overtones. Currently the outsiders include Ben Holder, Cara Michele Forrest, Doctor Joe Guarino, Fred Gregory and Billy Jones, aka Billy The Blogging Poet.

The idea to go public with the outsiders belongs to Ben Holder but I've no doubt the list will grow in the coming days. Are you a ConvergeSouth outsider? If so then feel free to join our ranks.
