Random Facts 'Cross Two Tracks
Have you ever been tagged for a meme? For those who may not know a meme is a game bloggers play that moves a lot of readers to places in the Blogosphere they may not be aware of and generates both inbound and outbound links to help drive more traffic via search engines.
Well not only have I been tagged for a meme but I've been tagged by two different people for the same meme. LaughCalvin and Janet Riehl have both tagged me at the same time so here goes.
8 Random Facts About Me
First: The Rules
1) Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2) People tagged post on their blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3) At the end of your blog, you choose eight people to tag and list their names.
4) Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
5) Prepare to be hated by some and loved by others. (I added #5.)
Now, on to the game:
1. In typical male fashion I have very quickly fallen head over heels in love with Akira. And in typical female fashion Akira wants to move a little slower than I want to move. (Okay, who am I kidding? Akira wants to move a lot slower. Fact is: I find it simply amazing that she hasn't blocked my e-mail address and still takes my telephone calls.) Hence we have the coming together of the sexes with the typical stress it brings.
2. I never went to college. Okay, I never attended college but it just so happens there used to be more than one all-girls college here in Greensboro and I might have gone to college there on a few occasions.
3. I wrote my first poem at age 38.
4. I published my first book at age 44. I've since published 3 more. Three books by Billy are available online.
5. I absolutely under no circumstances will eat a boiled or deviled egg. I don't even want to smell boiled or deviled eggs. I think they smell like farts. But I'm still planning to get a few laying hens and a chicken tractor as I love eggs any other way.
6. At age 18 I became a member of a motorcycle gang and remained so for 7 violent and wild years while successfully faking my reputation as a bad ass. Somehow I survived but others weren't so lucky. I miss some of those dudes.
7. I couldn't finish the entire 72 ounce steak, baked potato and salad they serve at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, Texas hence my picture is not on their wall. And to add insult to injury, those who CAN'T eat the entire meal have to pay full price while those who finish it eat free.
8. I legally crowned myself, Billy Jones, Poet Laureate of Greensboro, North Carolina ™ and there's nothing the city can do to stop me. That'll teach 'em to drag their feet.
And an extra: 9. On this very day in 2004 I suffered a stroke. I remember the date because today is Momma's birthday. Happy birthday, Momma.
Now, who will become my victims.
Akira Sorry, Baby, the world wants to know all there is to know about the woman who has cast her spell on me.
