Distances

A billion billion suns divulge their spark

but still it’s dark

throughout the silent vacuum known as space

there is no trace

of any other world that harbors life

and all the strife

produced by those intent to see how far

apart we are.

Isn't it interesting how easily we assimilate the concept of 'billion' yet can't begin to fathom an unquantifiable abstraction such as 'nothing'?
